Good Monday Morning

Well this weekend I made my FIRST EVER batch of cookies from recipe I borrowed from Sugar Belle OMG they were so incredibly easy and very very tasty. I was so proud of myself to be quite honest.

I did have a little trouble with baking as the small edges of some of the cookies overcooked I adjusted time a little as my temp was correct thing next time I will actually adjust the temp down just a little.

I have to perfect this QUICK.......I have an order for 5dz decorated cookies, some cake pops and then last night sprung on me they also want me to do a 1/2 sheet cake....I think sometimes people forget I am BRAND STINKIN NEW AT THIS......lol.

SOOOOOoooo everyone cross your fingers and toes for me that I can pull this off. It is for a very special occasion. My friends Grandmother turning 90 and her Daughter is turning 30 so they are having a HUGE surprise party for them.

We are going a garden theme since the grandmother is all about her garden and the daughter loves frogs I thought that would be a great way to incorporate something they both love.

Summer coming to end

I am sooo sorry I have not had more to post....Our temps have been over 100 for a consecutive 41 days and I do not have an exhaust fan so heating my house is just not reasonable right now. I did complete my Course 1 of Wilton Cake Decorating Class. My last cake didn't turn out great but it wasn't terrible either.

I really was hoping to play with cookies this weekend and if I can get them baked one evening after it cools off maybe I will get a chance to. 

We only have a little over 3 weeks then back to school not sure I am thrilled about it but it is what it is and during school I have more excuses to make sweets. Hope everyone is enjoying their summer.

Antique Shopping Adventure..........

My son came home yesterday and we spent the day doing garage sales and antique stores I was wanting a cake stand and found not only a cake stand but a second tier that I can put on stand and make 2 level stand for cupcakes or other treats.....and the bottoms are RED!!!! I am such a happy camper on that find....but guess I need to find a glass cover to go over the cake part. I will try to post a pic later.

I found several cookie cutters and a SUPERMAN cake pan that when I looked at it I thought would be AWESOME for a bachelorette party. That is all the cake decorating related items. But I did find some other really good deals. Including a Gypsy for my Cricut Expression and Cake.

I have to bake my cake and ice it for Monday nights final basic cake class. I am thinking of trying an "almond joy" cake.

Good Morning

Good Friday morning to all. I am going to Tyler shopping this evening when I get off. One of the things I am going to be looking for is an Airbrush system I want to get a gun to use for cakes and one to paint with.....figure when I do cakes ect I can do a cute tshirt for kids to match their cake as an added plus....what do you think about that idea??

Well my youngest (17yo) has been at my parents for several weeks and going to get him before I go shopping ......dang just remember I left my coupons at home that I printed out.....UGH!!!!

Hope everyone has a great day. OH one last note I would like prayers for my childhood friends grandbaby that was born 6 weeks early he is on a vent and we are praying everything works out well for baby Lane and his family.

Well I was trying to add pictures of my first sweets but seems yahoo and my phone aren't working together tonight....might be for the best they aren't anything to write home about but I will try again tomorrow.

I want to say thank you for taking time out of YOUR life to peek in on MY life. I just recently began Wilton Cake Basics Class Monday Aug 1st will be the last of my 4 night course. Not sure I learned a lot from it but it was fun. Good friend from school that I had not seen in over 20 years and I reconnected on FB and thru that reunion we decided to take the class together. Bless her heart she has been driving about 75 miles once a week to come take the classes with me....Gotta love her for that.

Prior to my starting classes another good friend of mine asked if I would do her daughters 7th Bday party 1st of all I can not believe Macy Girl is 7....where does time go???? I did enjoy doing the goodies for her party even tho it did stress me just a little since my friend does cakes herself and has LOTS of experience. But for my first attempt I really think I did a good job. We had cupcakes with strawberry cookies on top, brownies in shape of flowers that were decorate and Cake Pops. I was really encouraged with all the wonderful comments I received that day.
